Mainland Hunting – Yanyuwa, Marra, Garrwa, Gudanji

There are four main tribal groups in the wider Borroloola region. Yanyuwa and Marra people are known as saltwater people and rely quite heavily on the bounty of foods from the sea. Garrwa and Gudanji are known as freshwater or mainland people and fish mainly in the rivers and waterholes.

Hunting the mainland though is common to all tribal groups, and in these countries favourite foods are kangaroo, goanna and echidna.
