Calendar Tree – Yellow Wattyl

Yanyuwa people look to certain plants on their country to tell them that in the seasonal calendar, the time is right to harvest and hunt particular bush tuckers. The yellow Wattyl is one such plant – when Yanyuwa women see it bloom they know that fresh water turtle and Goanna will be fat, tender and good to eat.
